The Coast Guard has issued travel and leisure advisories for nearly 100 of Maine’s 150 coastal resorts, and the Maine Tourism Department says travelers should expect delays and cancellations.
The Coast Guard posted the advisories Friday night and warned of the impact of the storms on the Maine coastline and the surrounding communities.
In a statement, the Maine Department of Transportation said the advisory will be in effect for coastal resorts in the next 48 hours.
The Coast Guardsports Office has been advising the public to avoid the area as much as possible.
The advisory is for coastal recreation areas and recreation-only facilities, including fishing and fishing boats, boating, camping, kayaking and rafting.
The Maine Department Of Transportation has posted a map showing travel restrictions and a list of locations with additional travel advisories.
